1. Airport Safety Engineer – Certified Airport Inspector & Supervisor

Responsibilities:

  • Technical and administrative supervision of all safety departments across 22 airports in Egypt.

  • Ensuring compliance with ICAO Annex 14, Annex 19 (Safety Management System - SMS), and Part 139 requirements.

  • Conducting regular inspection visits to evaluate operational performance and infrastructure safety at airports.

  • Reviewing and approving technical documents such as:

     ✓ Airport Certification Manual (ACM)

     ✓ Emergency Response Plan

     ✓ Safety Management System

  • Designing and delivering specialized training programs on aviation safety, incident management, and risk analysis.

  • Serving as a key member of the certification team for new airports, including the New Administrative Capital Airport.

Key Achievements:

  • Led the certification process of the New Administrative Capital Airport over two years, achieving full compliance (100%) with ICAO requirements.

  • Reduced incidents and potential accidents (Incidents) by 30% within three years through the implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS).

  • Designed and delivered more than 30 training programs benefiting over 5,000 employees across various Egyptian airports.

  • Participated in establishing and strengthening a dedicated Bird Hazard Management Unit at Hurghada International Airport and the New Administrative Capital Airport, reducing bird strike rates by 40%.

2. Participation in the Licensing Team of Hurghada International Airport

Responsibilities:

  • Full supervision of the licensing team for Hurghada International Airport.

  • Ensuring continuous compliance with international regulations (ICAO) and local licensing requirements.

  • Monitoring periodic inspections of companies operating within the airport.

  • Reviewing and approving operational plans and documentation from ground handling and logistics service providers.

  • Providing technical support to inspection and airport evaluation teams.

Period: 2013 – 2019 (7 years)

Key Achievements:

  • Successfully contributed to the renewal of Hurghada International Airport’s license for three consecutive years without any critical findings from the Civil Aviation Authority.

  • Developed and updated the Airport Certification Manual (ACM) in line with the latest amendments of ICAO Doc 9774.

  • Improved security and operational safety standards, contributing to the airport's recognition among the top 10 airports in Africa in terms of operational efficiency.

  • Trained and qualified more than 800 personnel in safety and licensing practices within the airport.

3.Airport Safety Engineer – Airport Safety & Certification Expert

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical consultancy services to airlines and airports in areas including:

     ✓ Implementation of Safety Management Systems (SMS)

     ✓ Gap Analysis assessments

     ✓ Emergency Plan updates

     ✓ Staff training and capacity building

  • Assisting in obtaining operating licenses for ground handling companies under GACA Part 151 and Part 68.

  • Designing and developing technical and guidance manuals related to safety, quality, and training.

  • Conducting incident investigations and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Location: Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Period: 2019 – Present

Key Achievements:

  • Reduced the average time required to obtain an operational license (Part 151 & 68) for ground handling companies in Saudi Arabia by 30%, through streamlined procedures and direct consultation.

  • Developed and designed more than 15 technical manuals in the fields of safety and quality, which are currently used by airlines and airports.

  • Delivered training programs to over 200 staff members on safe driving practices on the apron, contributing to a 20% reduction in airside vehicle incidents.
